Irma Roberts is a seasoned immigration lawyer and the founder of 847 Law, with more than 25 years of experience helping individuals, families, and employers navigate the Canadian immigration system. Called to the Saskatchewan Bar in 1997 and the Alberta Bar in 1999, Irma is known for her integrity, precision, and deep understanding of immigration law. She advises clients on all aspects of immigration, including permanent residency, temporary work and study permits, family sponsorships, inadmissibility matters, and business immigration. Irma has represented clients before multiple administrative tribunals and immigration-related courts across Canada.

Her leadership in the legal profession includes serving as Past Chair and Executive Member of the CBA Southern Alberta Immigration Section and as a former member of the National Executive of the CBA Immigration Section. She has spoken and moderated at national and regional CBA immigration law conferences, including in Toronto, Gatineau, Hong Kong, and Bangkok.

 

Irma is a mentor through the Law Society of Alberta’s Mentor Express and Mentor Connect programs, has served on the Legal Aid Alberta Appeals Committee, and is a proud recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal. She has also taught Immigration Law and Practice at Bow Valley College.
